Request for Proposals Issued for Concession Services at Annenberg Community Beach House

The City of Santa Monica is seeking proposals from qualified applicants to develop, equip, operate and manage the restaurant and beach equipment rental concession at the new Annenberg Community Beach House at Santa Monica State Beach, located at 415 Pacific Coast Highway.

Currently under construction, the Annenberg Community Beach House will quickly become a premiere recreation destination in Southern California upon its opening in early 2009. The project is revitalizing elements of the historic beachfront Marion Davies Estate along with construction of new elements such as a pool house and event house. The existing beach café, located next door to the Beach House at 445 Pacific Coast Highway, is also undergoing structural upgrades, including a new take out window, as part of the project.

The concessions operation will be integral to the success of this public beach facility. Qualified applicants must have a minimum five years experience in the development, management and operation of a high-quality food service facility and the demonstrated financial capacity to fund required tenant improvements, equipment, supplies and operating costs.
