Santa Monica’s Gingerbread Bus Hits All the Right Notes The Big Blue Bus is rolling the holiday spirit out to local streets once again with their decorated holiday bus. Continuing what has become an annual tradition, the Big Blue Holiday Bus – a specially wrapped bus that operates from Thanksgiving to January 2, 2009 – is now in service. This year’s theme combines two local favorites: food and music. Designed to mimic a gingerbread bus, the illustrated musicians “playing” holiday tunes, the wrap is sponsored by K-JAZZ, the L.A.-area’s preeminent jazz music station. For many in Santa Monica the Big Blue Holiday Bus has become a herald of the season. Themes of holidays past include the Candy Cane Bus, the Skating Reindeer Bus, and the Singing Snow People Bus. Photos of buses from previous years can be viewed at www.BigBlueBus.com. “The Big Blue Holiday Bus is going to bring riders and neighbors alike a much needed holiday treat this year,” said Dan Dawson, Customer Relations Manager for Santa Monica’s Big Blue Bus. “It reminds everyone who sees it of the spirit of the holidays, while giving the gift of less traffic and easier parking.” Two of the most popular holiday destinations the Big Blue Holiday Bus
is headed this year are the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl on January 1, 2009.
Tickets are now available for parade transportation with or without a
grandstand seat, and for game transportation only, ranging between $35
and $70. For more information on the New Year’s Day excursions or
