April 24, 2024 -- The Shore Hotel in Santa Monica has been awarded the nation's top hotel in TripAdvisor's 2024 Best of the Best Traveler’s Choice Awards.

The Shore was the only California hotel to make the top 10 on the popular travel website's list, which recognizes "the highest level of excellence in travel."

The award is given "to those who receive a high volume of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions from the Tripadvisor community over a 12-month period," according to the website.

"Out of our 8 million listings, fewer than 1 percent achieve this milestone," TripAdvisor notes.

The 164-room "pet-friendly" hotel near the Promenade and Santa Monica Pier offers "a stylish atmosphere and attention to detail," TripAdvisor wrote.

"The hotel offers roomy suites with ocean views and comfy beds, while the facilities include an outdoor pool with a view, a fitness center, and free bike rentals."

The website also noted the Shore's "eco-friendly design and high-fi rooms, incorporating advanced UV sanitization technology for a safe and clean stay."

Last year, the Shore Hotel was the winner of a Grand Prize at Santa Monica's 27th Annual Sustainable Quality Awards for "revolutionizing sustainability within the hospitality industry" ("Hotel, Shared Mobility Company win Top Sustainability Awards," April 17, 2023).
