October 7, 2019 -- Santa Monica College (SMC) will hold a homecoming celebration before the Corsairs take on the LA Harbor College Seahawks October 19.

The free pre-game activities start at 10:30 at Corsair Field on the main campus at 1900 Pico Boulevard with kick-off at 1 p.m.

The homecoming celebration features a DJ, carnival games and giveaways, college officials said.

Food trucks will offer beverages and snacks for purchase, and kids can explore "a vibrant selection of SMC student clubs" that will set up tables, officials said.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to donate in support of breast cancer and liver cancer awareness.

The Corsairs kicked off the season last month with a big 32-6 win against Southwest, before dropping the next three out of four games for a 2 and 3 start.

Halftime activities include a performance by SMC Cheer, a parade of SMC athletic teams to show SMC school spirit and a drawing for an iPad Mini and headphones, organizers said.

Picnicking and blankets to sit on are welcome, but alcoholic beverages, glass containers, and barbecues are prohibited, as are chairs with pointed legs.

SMC is a smoke free campus and all smoking is prohibited.

There is ample free parking available on the premises.

The pre-game festivities are sponsored by the Santa Monica College Associated Students in coordination with Corsair Athletics, the SMC Office of Student Life, SMC Police Department, SMC Events Services and SMC Foundation.
