By Lookout Staff August 2, 2011 --Learn how to strengthen your brain and improve your focus and concentration at a workshop Saturday at the Santa Monica Public Library. Presented by Sara Beck, a brain fitness/memory enhancement teacher at the Venice Skills Center, Brain Fitness: a Workshop will provide the latest information on nutrition and other strategies to keep your brain strong. The workshop – which will be held at 3 p.m. in the Main Library's Multipurpose Room, 601 Santa Monica Boulevard -- includes an interactive demonstration of scientifically designed and tested exercises using the Brain Fitness/Insight computer programs, which have been featured on PBS. Beck has been an Adult Education teacher with LAUSD for 23 years and has been teaching the brain fitness/memory enhancement class for three years. She has a B.S. in Nutrition, Medical Dietetics and is a registered DTR with the American Dietetic Association. This program is free and all ages are welcome.
