Library Event to Offer Book Publishing Tips

By Lookout Staff

June 29, 2010 -- The Santa Monica Public Library will offer a session on “How to Get Your Book Published” on July 14. The session will be hosted by Santa Monica resident Etan Boritzer, an author and publisher who had his first work published when he was just 13 years old. Boritzer will cover “all of the basics of getting your book published,” according to a press release from the City.

“Writers the world over wonder how they can get their books published,” the release states. “Getting over that hump of finishing the book and polishing it, then making the right contacts, finding that agent, editor or publisher who will be your champion, and then marketing the book so it sells well and gives you the opportunity to keep writing is the goal for most.”

The free event, which will take place in the Main Library’s Martin Luther King Jr. Auditorium, will have limited seating. It will begin at 7 p.m. For more information on this and other library programs, go to www.smpl.org or contact the Santa Monica Public Library at 310-458-8600.
