December 10, 2010 -- Ever want to ride a roller coaster with Santa? Here’s your chance. A custom-designed 6-foot likeness of the big man in the red suit will be riding Pacific Park’s coaster through Christmas Day from noon until closing time.

Santa will ride the last car on the West Coaster all day and night during park hours on the Santa Monica Pier as he makes his way over and through the two-acre amusement park delivering holiday cheer.

Guests can have their photos snapped with Santa while the train is in the station or ride-along as the coaster races 55-feet above the Santa Monica Bay, park officials said. A curtain of snow that is fast-dissolving and environmentally friendly falls each time Santa leaves the coaster station.

“Santa and snow are the perfect combination – even in sunny Santa Monica,” says Jeff Klocke, Director of Marketing and Sales at Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier. “Our goal is to create a one-of-a-kind holiday experience with these special additions accentuated by our unique seaside location.”

Admission to Pacific Park is free. Prices for individual roller coaster rides are $5 each. Pacific Park’s best value is the all-day wristband, providing unlimited use of rides, at $15.95 for guests 7 years and below and $21.95 for guests 8 years and older.
