Police Seek Suspects in Friday Shooting

By Lookout Staff

May 18 – Police are looking for two men who opened fire outside a home near Stewart Street Park in the Pico Neighborhood Friday night.

No one was hit in the incident, which took place on the 2800 block of Delaware Avenue shortly before 9:30 p.m., police said.

The victims were arriving home when two suspects approached their vehicle, said Sgt. Jay Trisler, the new Police Department spokesman.

“The suspect fired several shots at the vehicle,” Trisler said. “No one was hit and the suspects fled on foot.”

Police believe the victims were involved in previous incidents that may have made them targets of the shooting, police said.

The first suspect is described as a male Hispanic in his 20s, 6’01” and approximately 150 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark plaid shorts and white socks pulled up. He has pale complexion with acne.

The second suspect is described as a male Hispanic also in his 20s, 5’ 7” with a stocky build. He, too, was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark plaid shorts and white pulled-up socks.

The suspects fled on foot headed west, Trisler said.

No vehicle was seen and the suspects are still outstanding, he said.
