Street Musicians, Bushman Take Pier Stage

July 2, 2009 – A group of street musicians from around the world that banded together in Los Angeles eight years ago and a popular band from Jamaica will share the stage at the free Twilight Dance Series Concert on the pier Thursday evening.

Playing for Change is a global movement started in Santa Monica that has spread speedily over the Internet. The video for “Stand By Me” is the all-time #1 rated music video on YouTube.. The band features 10 musicians from 8 countries around the world and special guest performances.www.playingforchange.org/

Bushman is known as the musical medicine man in his native Jamaica, where he was raised Rastafarian. Bushman has recorded eight albums from his debut in 1997 and his upcoming release “Bushman sings the Bush Doctor” is a tribute to his greatest influence, Peter Tosh. www.bushman-music.com

The concerts run from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the pier parking lot (on the pier). All concerts are free. No alcohol is allowed. Dogs are allowed as long as they are on a leash.

Guests are more than welcomed to bring their own seating but seats will be available for rental.
