Two Shot in Pico Neighborhood By Lookout Staff August 30 -- Two individuals were shot during an assault in the Pico Neighborhood early Sunday morning, police said. The incident -- which police are characterizing as a possible “mutual combat/self-defense situation” -- took place shortly before 2 a.m. on 11th Street and Pico Boulevard, said Lt. Frank Fabrega, the police department spokesman. The two subjects shot were taken to a local hospital, Fabrega said. One sustained a gunshot wound to his leg, the other was shot in the upper torso. “While officers were conducting this investigation, they were contacted by Los Angeles Police Department who had two subjects reporting that they were involved in an assault in Santa Monica,” Fabrega said. The additional subjects are being interviewed regarding this incident, police said.
