Three Arrested in String of Street Robberies

By Lookout Staff

July 26 -- A trio of alleged robbers, including a 19-year-old Los Angeles man and two juveniles --a male and a female -- were arrested around noon on Sunday, July 25, shortly after a string of street robberies and attempted robberies in Santa Monica and West Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles District Attorney filed a total of seven robbery counts against the suspects, including five incidents in Santa Monica and two in Los Angeles, said Lt. Frank Fabrega, police department spokesman.

Santa Monica Police officers followed the suspects from the 3300 block of Pico Blvd. in Santa Monica, onto the Santa Monica Freeway, then to the San Diego Freeway southbound, where the suspect vehicle exited at Slauson Ave., Fabrega said.

Officers recovered a replica firearm from the vehicle, which had been reported stolen.

Fabrega said that weapons were used in some of the robberies.

The adult suspect was also charged with one count of burglary and one count of grand theft auto, in addition to multiple counts of robbery and attempted robbery.

Anyone with information about the incidents is urged to contact the Robbery-Homicide Unit, (310) 458-8451.
