Thief Makes off with Jewelry

Nov. 28 -- A women was held up at gunpoint Monday as she sat in
her car on upscale Montana Avenue, authorities said.
The 37-year-old woman was on the 1400 block of Montana Avenue at 6:30
p.m. when a man approached her vehicle armed with a handgun and demanded
her money, police spokesman Lt. Frank Fabrega said.
The suspect took several pieces of jewelry and fled on foot. He was last
seen running north on 14th Street. The estimated loss is unknown.
The suspect is described as a black man in his twenties. He is 5 feet
10 inches tall, is thin and was wearing a black jacket and dark pants.
The police department's robbery/homicide unit is handling the investigation.
