Bicyclist Critical After Being Struck by Vehicle

Nov. 18 -- A bicyclist was listed in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle while riding across Santa Monica Boulevard Sunday afternoon, police said.

The cyclist, whose identity has not been released, was riding northbound on 21st Street at around 1:54 p.m. and crossed in front of traffic going eastbound on Santa Monica Boulevard, police said.

The cyclist was struck by a vehicle travelling in the right hand lane. The cyclist was taken to a local hospital and was listed in critical condition Sunday night.

The driver, a resident of Mission Viejo, was interviewed at the scene and released.
