November 25, 2019 -- LAX passengers can take a $10 shuttle to and from Santa Monica during the busy Thanksgiving holidays, LAX officials announced.

The new ride-share pickup service, which launched Sunday, will run through December 2, except Thanksgiving day, officials said.

Passengers can take the LAX Holiday Shuttle by the pink pillars outside arrivals and ride to the Santa Monica drop-off at 1925 Arizona Avenue.

Buses depart for LAZ from the Arizona Avenue location every hour from 5 a.m. to midnight.

The $10 shuttle also travels between LAX and 2030 Century Park West in Century City.

Some 3.2 million people are expected to go through LAX during the Thanksgiving holiday, or the equivalent of 80 percent of the population of Los Angeles, airport officials said.

"This Thanksgiving holiday is projected to be the busiest on record, which means like last year, traffic will be bad during peak times, so our guests should know that they have many choices to access and leave LAX," said Deborah Flint, the CEO of Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA).

“We are providing more convenient and frequent choices for our guests who want to reduce their travel stress by opting for a public transportation option."

Until December 2, arriving passengers can also take a free C Line shuttle bus by the pink pillars and ride to a bus hub.

There, they can show their boarding pass and get free bus rides to Union Station, UCLA, Santa Monica, Long Beach and other destinations.
