"The lone resident woke up to Bunnell in his house," said Sgt. Roberto Villegas, a Police Department spokesman.

The robbery took place Tuesday shortly before 7 a.m. in a house on the 1400 block of Grant Street.

"Bunnell displayed a knife while demanding property and money," Villegas said. "The resident was able to run out of the house and call the police without injury."

Numerous officers responded to the area in search of the suspect, acording to police.

"Due to the prompt response of the officers, Bunnell was located a short distance away hiding in a subterranean garage," Villegas said.

Police found items taken during the robbery when they took Bunnell into custody, he said.

Items belonging to the victim were located where Bunnell was taken into custody.

Bunnell remains in custody pending future court proceedings.
