March 13, 2014 -- If you’re outgoing, energetic and like to be near the beach, Pacific Park may have the job for you.
The two-acre amusement park is looking to fill approximately 150 Spring Break and summer positions -- including ride operators, food servers, birthday coordinators and admission workers -- with “fun, outgoing, energetic team members,” according to park officials.
Check out if you fit the bill when Pacific Park hosts its 2014 Job Fair Saturday, March 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its Seaside Pavilion.
“We pride ourselves on being one of Santa Monica's largest youth employers,” said Jeff Klocke, Pacific Park’s vice president of marketing and administration. “The job fair provides a unique opportunity for prospective employees to meet the various department leaders for one-on-one interviews and discussions.”
Various department representatives will interview applicants in the areas that they are interested in working including rides, games, retail and security, among others.
Potential employees are encouraged to bring a completed application to the Job Fair, which can be downloaded at pacpark.com. Job applications will also be available for completion on-site.
“Come out and apply,” Klocke said. “Pacific Park welcomes more than 6.5 million visitors annually to the Santa Monica Pier, and we encourage individuals of all ages and backgrounds to join our team to help make lifetime memories for these guests.
“We're constantly taking applications,” he added. “The number one skill we're looking for is great customer service.”
Hiring decisions may be made during the interview process in some occasions, according to officials. All new-hires will be required to attend a Pacific Park orientation session at a later date.
Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier, LA’s only admission free amusement park, offers 12 amusement rides, 17 midway games, an oceanfront food plaza and retail shops, according to Park officials.
In addition to the Pacific Wheel, the world’s only solar-powered Ferris wheel, Pacific Park’s signature rides include The West Coaster, a steel roller coaster that races 55 feet above the Santa Monica Bay; and Inkie’s Air Lift Balloon Ride, the “high-flying, family-sharing kids’ ride,” officials said. For additional information and hours of operation, call 310-260-8744, or visit www.pacpark.com.
