Search for Burglary Suspect
By Lookout Staff
October 12 -- Police
are looking for the leader of a “Gypsies group” involved in a series of
recent residential burglaries in the city.
The suspect and his accomplices
will distract victims, while a co-suspect enters the residences to steal
money or jewelry, police said.
The group is responsible for
a series of crimes in the Southern California area ranging from staged
traffic accidents to residential burglaries by deception or trickery,
said Lt. Frank Fabrega, the police department spokesman.
"The suspects often pose
as contractors, gardeners, utility company employees or even relatives
of neighbors," Fabrega said.
The wanted suspect is identified
as Michael Adams, AKA Michael Ross, a 25-year-old white male who is 5'8"
and weighs 220 pounds, police said. He has black hair and brown eyes.
Adams drives what is described as a large pick-up or SUV, but police caution
that he often changes vehicles, Fabrega said.
