Man Stabbed at Pier By Jorge Casuso Oct. 1 -- A Santa Monica man was arrested for attempted murder after stabbing a friend at the pier early Sunday morning, police said. Aaron Kalan Murray, 35, was booked in Santa Monica jail after the victim, a resident of Los Angeles, approached police at the pier parking lot at 12:27 a.m. with a stab wound to the upper torso, said Lt. Frank Fabrega, the police department spokesman. The victim described his assailant, who was then stopped by officers at the chess park on the 1600 block of Oceanfront Walk just south of the pier, Farega said. The officers brought the suspect to the parking lot where his victim -- who was treated by paramedics at the scene -- made a positive identification. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated for the stab wound. On Tuesday the case was filed with the District Attorney's office. Bail for Murray has been set at $500,000. "They're friends," Fabrega said. "I don't know what happened." Anyone with information regarding this incident should call police at 458-8451. |
