LA City Council Member Bill Rosendahl Reacts to Yaroslavsky's Proposal

Councilmember Bill Rosendahl issued the following statement in regards to the one-way street conversion proposal commissioned by Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky:

"I am intrigued by this proposal, and will assure it gets a thorough and timely review by the community and by the city's best transportation professionals.

"I am happy that people are finally thinking out of the box and thinking creatively about solutions to the gridlock we endure each day. Especially on the Westside, the traffic is intolerable. I am willing to entertain any and all ideas that promise significant relief.

"In order to make sure this proposal gets the proper review, I am asking the Department of Transportation to hold public hearings on the proposal, in the Pico and Olympic neighborhoods of CD11, to get direct input from residents, business owners, commuters, neighborhood councils, homeowners' associations, the 11th District Empowerment Congress Transportation Committee, chambers of commerce and transportation officials. I will ask them to report back to me quickly, within 60 days.

" I am eager for feedback from the public on this proposal."
