| Get
a Life and Election Concerns
Dear Editor,
Does anyone care what neighborhood groups think? Most people
don't, including me. ("Residents
Air Concerns Over Proposed College Bond," July 5)
Friends of Sunset Park is just another group of people who have
too much free time. All they do is complain about Santa Monica
College and the SM Airport, two of the greatest facilities this
city has to offer.
You folks really need to get a life.

(Re: "Mayor
Bloom to Seek Reelection," July 7, 2004)
Letter to Mayor Bloom:
Delighted you have decided to run again Richard, well done. Your
record is great and your support of the public school district
is much admired.
My biggest concerns as a now 15-year resident who also works
in Santa Monica are:
- Homeless 'occupation' of parks at the expense of families.
- Traffic, polluting and frustrating. (Vast parking stations
somewhere
like Pico with battery powered rapid transit downtown? Plus
electronic
toll for driving into a "downtown zone" as very successfully
implemented
in two problem areas that I know of, London and Singapore).
- Third Street Promenade... by any measure dangerous, (why was
the police "station" closed there?) an embarrassment
and not a place for teenagers.
Please let me know where you are on these issues.
Best,
Greg Coote
