California's Nader, Thanks and Kudos October 2, 2003 Dear Editor, Mayor pro tem Kevin McKeown's endorsement of Green candidate Peter Camejo may have had a big effect on the next election for governor. According to am LA Times poll issued October 1, it appears that Camejo's support has soared from 1 percent last August to 3 percent now. This surge of support cannot be completely attributed to Arianna Huffington dropping out of the race, because she dropped out after the poll was taken. The Mayor pro tem may be right. Now that Arianna is out of the race, Camejo is now solidly in fourth place, well ahead of Gary Coleman and Larry Flynt. That is equivalent to being the third runner up, which is pretty good considering the number of candidates. Camejo also appears to be the candidate who has the "momentum." With a little luck and more endorsements, Peter Camejo could be California's version of Ralph Nader. And if he would only put our former Mayor, Michael Feinstein, in charge of his campaign finances, victory would be assured. James L. Jacobson October 2, 2003 Dear Editor, Thanks for the great article about the Sunset Seaway! ("PART I -- Dreaming Big," Sept. 29, 2003) I had heard a little bit about this thing but never knew any details. I am impressed by the thorough research you have done in order to tell this story. Thank God the project never came to pass! Thanks again for this story Jason Clark October 2, 2003 Dear Editor, Kudos. ("WHAT I SAY: Errors Typographical and Otherwise," August 29, 2003) I don't agree with Frank Gruber's assessment of Bush Administration policies but I do have my own concerns, and I don't disagree with admonitions of vigilance. You remember what "liberalism" was once about -- back when I was one myself. Mr. Oscar del la Torre is a terrible danger -- mostly to what he would describe as "my people." You can quote me on that.
