Not a Green Office and Talk of the City February 26, 2003 Dear Editor: The Green Party of California wishes to correct the following statement which is contained in the opening sentence of your article, ("National Greens Discuss Growth," Feb 26, 2003): "Councilman Michael Feinstein sat inside the Green Party offices on Pico Boulevard." The office space referenced does not fall under the legal definition of a Green Party office. The office space itself is leased by a private party and is not owned, leased or subleased by the Green Party. While it's true that meetings of various organizations, including Green meetings such as the one profiled in your excellent article, have occurred in the past at that address and likely will occur in the future, the Green Party takes no responsibility for its maintenance. The Green Party asks that you please correct any misperception that may occur due to this erroneous statement by running a correction. Most Respectfully and With Thanks, John C. Strawn February 19, 2003 Dear Editor, Why has Mr. Feinstein ignored this matter for so long? There should
be a formal investigation. Why are we waiting in the dark? ("Feinstein
Dismisses Allegations, Says 'Law is Being Followed,'" Feb. 10) Ronald Martin |
