Restaurant Owner, Chef Charged with Selling Endangered Whale
March 11, 2010 -- Federal prosecutors yesterday filed charges of “illegal sale of a marine mammal product for an unauthorized process” against the owner and chef of The Hump, a popular sushi restaurant located at the Santa Monica Airport.

Former Mayor, Environmentalist Immortalized at City Parks
March 10, 2010 -- When he was not at City Hall or his architecture studio, City Council member Herb Katz could often be found at Joslyn Park, happily walking his two dogs and socializing with people. On Tuesday, the City Council renamed the off-leash portion of the park after Katz, who died in 2008.

Delay on Decision for The Parlor Requested
The City Council is scheduled to hold a hearing tomorrow on changing the hours and reducing the number of seats among other changes for The Parlor, a popular restaurant/ sports bar on Wilshire Boulevard off 15th Street that many neighbors call a nuisance.

March 11, 2010 --The Parlor received a semi-victory and a loss at Tuesday’s City Council hearing. The council members voted for the restaurant/bar to close at 11 p.m. on weekdays and midnight on weekends. The council will allow a seat increase at the establishment located on Wilshire Boulevard off 15th Street, but not by as much as the building owner had requested.
